Fenella Jane - Lead Digital Mentor / Health and wellness stream

Fenella is a community-minded regional local who owns a health food store and founded Keep It Simple Solutions (KISS) wellness products and mentoring services. KISS reflects Fenella's philosophy on life! "what we give out, we get back; what we feed our mind and body, we ultimately feed our heart and soul."

Fenella has delivered coaching, training, mentoring, and workshops across the region, volunteering to deliver workshops to community groups. As a long-term regional local, she is passionate about the Be Connected initiative as a way to 'put back' into the community.

Derek Tink - Community Advisor - Safety, Security, Mens Sheds

Derek is a community-minded innovator who assists with administration for the team of volunteer Digital Mentors. Derek is motivated to connect people in need to local area support networks.

Derek has previously assisted in administering Digital Development and Community Support programs, helping coordinate workshops and 'face-to-face' digital advisors within the community. A passionate Australian local with a long family history connected to the regions, Derek is passionate about regional communities having access to services and support available within metro areas, helping to erode 'digital exclusion' in the bush.

His favorite saying "To make good things happen in the regions, you need to have good people on the ground in the region, doing the right thing and leading by example. Good foundations will help the foundation of Good things"

Are you interested in helping others to connect via technology?

iConnect Digital provides a train-the-trainer program to help create new digital mentors within communities.

A digital divide exists within the regions, dividing individuals that know how to connect via technology (the haves) and those that don't (the have-nots)

The digital divide impacts individuals and community groups. Individuals are at risk of isolation and being 'excluded.' Community groups can connect with members and the community they serve.

You can help bridge the digital divide. Assist others by enthusiastically helping others connect.

iConnect digital can help community groups upskill their staff and volunteers.

If you are interested in helping others to connect or are currently part of a community group that could benefit from digital upskilling, or if your group members need essential information, reach out to iConnect Digital for more information on assistance that is available.

We are community ambassadors for various initiatives and programs that can assist in developing digital capacity within regions.
